A toddler is a child between the ages of one to three years old who has started walking but not fully mastered it. Discipline is a series of rules regulating behaviour. It is a way of controlling behaviour. Discipline should be a form of teaching your child and not punishment. Some parents confuse discipline for punishment and end up hurting the child.
You can discipline your toddler by being patient. Exercise patience with your child as you teach them new skills, good behaviours and shower them with praise when they do the right thing.
When he or she wants to do something you don't want, try distracting him or her with a new activity rather than shouting.
Don't get into battles with your toddler that will eventually lead to no where.
Always show and remind your toddler of the behaviour you expect from them.
As a parent, always lead by good example and soon they will decide to follow your steps.
