The tantalizing question as to the gayness or not of A-list movie stars always peaks interest. This is by far more so for male actors as some latitude is allowed for female stars, even ones that are out of the closet and openly gay. When the subject of the speculation is a virile star, that not only portrays heroics acts on the screen, but also have millions of female fans swooning in admiration over an icon like Vin Diesel, curiosity reaches viral proportions. So, is Vin Diesel Gay?
In the early stages of Vin's career, he was seldom seen in the company of women when public appearances put him in front of the cameras of the newsmen. This fact alone was enough to get the rumors started. Other superstars suffered the same fate, with repeated stories about their private lives being spread in the name of news about the rich and famous. In Vin's case his roles in many actions movies, his deep baritone voice, and his decidedly manly physique gave rise to a high degree of interest in his personal life. This macho image was reinforced by many action roles and particularly his repeated returns in mega serial movies like The Fast and the Furious, Riddick, and xXx. Vin's reaction to these continuing rumors was a strong denial. To this, he added the comment that he did not want to share his private affairs with the public, like so many other well-known entertainers. At the time, he stated that he preferred to date in Europe where his noticeability was at a lower level.
Since those early days, Vin has entered into a stable and long running relationship with well-known model Paloma Jiminez. She is a noted celebrity and beauty in her own right. The relationship between Vin and Paloma has lasted for more than 10 years and they are the proud parents of three beautiful children, named Hania, Vincent, and Pauline. There is, of course, those who argue that it is all a scam, a whitewash of the truth. This is pure and willful gossip. Why would a beautiful woman like Paloma mess up her own life for such a reason, even to the tune of having three offspring? Seeing the happy couple moving around in public more often than in the past is just another nail in the coffin of Vin's alleged sexual orientation.
My take on Vin is that he is not gay in any shape or form, not even bisexual. He remains a Hollywood icon. Since he first hit the silver screen, Vin has remained a popular star always hovering among the top 500 stars of Tinsel town. His popularity has remained at the high-end of the scales since his breakthrough role in "Saving Private Ryan" in 1995. His celebrity status, difficult to maintain over a long period of time, shows no signs of slowing down. A sure sign of the respect in which he is held and the weight attached to his honesty.
